BAUSTAD – Warren
1936 – 2005
Warren Baustad, beloved partner of Jan McVittie of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the age of 69 years, after a lengthy battle with Emphysema.
Warren was born on July 25, 1936 in Calgary and grew up in Harmattan, AB. He moved to Calgary with his family in 1964 where he and his wife began Warren’s Delivery. Warren was involved in coaching and volunteering in hockey. He was especially proud of his work with the Mac’s Midget Hockey Tournament where he volunteered for over twenty years. He was employed with Pockar Brothers, Thibeault Masonary and IXL Masonary for many years. In more recent years, he operated Bulldog Hotshot Services with Jan, Keith and Connie McVittie. Warren was a tireless worker who had the time to help those in need. His rough exterior hid his heart of gold.
Besides his partner Jan, Warren is survived by his family, Rob and Maureen Baustad of Chestermere, AB, Greg and Heather Baustad of Carstairs, AB, Bev and Allan Thomas of Sherwood Park, AB, Terry and Tammy Baustad of Calgary, and Colin and Staci Baustad of Calgary; eleven grandchildren, Shane, Jared, Colin, Dylan, Owain, Jay, Samantha, Jaden, MacKenzie, Brianna, and Brayden; and a great-grandson Anden.
