Obituary of Anthony Storcer

Anthony Storcer of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Anthony was born in Handlova, Czechoslovakia on September 22, 1920 and immigrated to Canada in the late 1920’s settling initially near Bentley, AB and later in Wayne, AB. After serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Anthony graduated from the Queen’s University with a BSc in Engineering. During those years he met and married his spouse Phyllis Patricia Batley. During his working years he was an engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry. In Anthony’s retirement years he was active in political and Seniors’ issues, and also enjoyed volunteering in many activities. He was very proud of his recent recognition of these activities. He is survived by his brothers Joseph and Edward; sister Violet; his children Kenneth (Ankie) and Nadine (Wally); and four grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Ian, and Derek. Anthony is predeceased by his wife Phyllis in 1998, and mother Elizabeth Weiss in 1999.
