Obituary of Rita Specka-Nord

Rita Yvonne Specka-Nord (nee Champagne), beloved wife of Mr. John Nord of Calgary, passed away at the Agape Hospice on Friday, November 4, 2005 at the age of 58 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Rita was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 21, 1947. She moved to Calgary in 1978, also having lived in several other places in Canada. Rita spent much of her life helping others through both her work and her personal life. Though she loved to travel and has a passion for the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, spending time around her family and friends was most important to her. Rita is remembered by her loving husband John; four daughters and sons-in-law, Corrine and Todd Brooks of Winnipeg, MB, Susie Lemay of Calgary, Terri and Sheldon Neudorf of Ft. Nelson, BC; Joanna and Derek Verhegge of Calgary; son Ross Nord of Calgary; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Adrien Berard and Jean-Marc Dionne, Angele and Henry Friesen, and Aline Friesen; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Pat Champagne, and Luc and Syndi Champagne. Rita was predeceased by her parents Laurent and Marie-Ange.
