Obituary of Glen Lee
Glen Lee, beloved husband of Tammy Lee of Calgary, passed away accidentally on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the age of 48 years.
Glen was born October 19th, 1957 in Edson, Alberta. He spent his early school years in Edson and moved to Calgary in 1968. Glen met his wife Tammy in August of 1985 and married in May of 1990.
Glen worked in a variety of positions and then entered the oil and gas industry. He made the decision to return to university, the metallurgical field, in 1986. His engineering career started at Husky in 1989, where he gained his Professional Engineer designation. In the early 90’s Glen instructed at SAIT. Shortly after, Glen and his partners started Alliance Engineering & Inspection Ltd. Within 2 years, Glen was sole owner and grew the company to be a successful competitor within the industry. In 2003, Alliance was sold to Can Spec Group and Glen moved on to his current position with Penn West Energy Trust. He loved this new position and felt it to be a whole new part of his life.
Glen loved the ocean and wanted to take sailing lessons in the Caribbean islands on their next cruise. This September, Glen and Tammy had a dream vacation when they walked in the vineyards and olive groves of Italy and spent time with friends in the south of England. Glen enjoyed spending his time with family, special neighbours and close friends, especially the “little people”, to whom he was a very special Uncle. We have all grown to love Glen for his trademark smile and infectious laugh, for which he will be greatly missed. We love you Glen…
Glen is survived by his wife Tammy; his father Bill; his brother Reg (Maureen, Kaleb, (Karla), Maggin); sister Gail (Ron Heggs, Chad, (Krista Lea), Sydney (Kevin Johnson); as well as extended family and many close friends. Glen was predeceased by his mother, Irene on March 27th, 2004.
