Obituary of Joan Rose Lovejoy
Joan Rose Lovejoy (Brown) (nee Jordan), beloved wife of Gerald Henry Lovejoy of Calgary, passed away at Mayfair Care Centre on Monday, October 31, 2005, at the age of 86 years.
Joan was born on December 4, 1918 in Surrey, England. During her long and full life, Joan moved to Montreal in 1957 where she worked as a Corporate-level Clerical Assistant and Librarian for ALCAN Corporation. After the sudden passing of her husband Timothy Atherton Brown, Joan bravely forged on, making a new start on her own in Calgary. Joan quickly found work with Trizec, and shortly thereafter met and married her dear husband, Gerry Lovejoy. After retiring, Joan lovingly devoted her time to caring for both her husband Gerry and her beloved pets; George, Josh, Charlie, and Tanya, as well as the pets in the neighbourhood and the many charities which she gave to each year.
Besides her loving husband Gerald, Joan is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister Patricia Kemp of Devon, England; nieces and nephews Ann Wilcox, Susan Kemp, Micheal Jordan and Timothy Kemp, all of England; and step-children Angela Bohonus, Paul and Janice Lovejoy, Tim and Deb Lovejoy, and Yvonne and Mark Richards all of Calgary, and Ellen and Jim Francis of Brighton, ON; grandchildren Amber Bohonus, Cherise Lovejoy and Tyler Lovejoy all of Calgary, Gordon Bohonus of Camrose, AB, and Natalie Manley of Carrying Place, ON; and six great-grandchildren Brandon, Gerrett, Colin, Kaitlyn, Alana, and Star, all of Carrying Place, ON. Joan was predeceased by her dear brothers Cyril and Theodore (Teddy) Jordan.
