Obituary of Vitaly Markhasin
Vitaly Markhasin, beloved husband of Irina of Calgary, passed away on October 30, 2005 at the age of 64 years.
Besides his loving wife Irina, Vitaly is survived by his mother Vera; his sons Boris (Renata) and Valery; sister Rita (Eugene); and grandson Victor. He is also survived by aunt Sonia; nephew Larry; nieces, Ilona (Greg, Nicole) of Calgary, Anna of Israel and Erna (Valentin) of Los Angeles; and cousins, Jack of Calgary, Marina (Boris) and Inna (Vova), all of Israel, and Anna of Los Angeles.
Vitaly was predeceased by his father Ilya and aunt Berta. Vitaly was born in Minsk, Russia in 1941 and came to Canada with his family in 1976 from L’vov. He graduated from the L’vov Polytechnical Institute in 1965. In Canada he worked in the oil and gas industry for SNC Lavalin. Vitaly was a well known and accomplished HAM Radio operator for fifty years. His avid participation, enthusiasm and dedication to this interest will continue to be felt by many worldwide. Vitaly will be remembered as a loving son, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at the Temple B’nai Tikvah (900 – 47th Ave S.W.) on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 12:00 noon. Internment will follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Ave & Erlton Street S.W.). The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the care-givers who provided so much support and care to Vitaly and Irina.
