Obituary of Johannes Matthijs

Johannes Matthijs beloved husband of Marion, of Cochrane, passed away peacefully, in the presence of loved ones, on Friday October 28, 2005 at the age of 65 years. Jo was born and raised in Holland. Together with his loving wife Marion they ran the bakery his parents had started, for 25 years. After his retirement Jo and Marion moved to Canada where they had a wonderful time making many new friends. His former profession as a baker, soon became his hobby and during Christmas, and other celebrations he made sure that his many friends enjoyed his delicious baking. Jo is the proud father of four children and five grand-children. Jo was expecting his sixth grandchild. His family was his pride and joy. Jo?s ultimate desire was to spend precious time with them again back in Holland. All of the arrangements had been made, but fate decided differently. Jo quietly passed away at the Foothills Hospital with loved ones by his side. He fought a valiant fight but lost the battle.
