Obituary of Ailene Mae Gibson
Ailene Mae Gibson, beloved wife of Bill Gibson of Calgary, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the age of 83 years, after a three year battle with lymphoma.
Ailene was born on February 26, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana where she grew up and graduated from Business College. She and Bill were married on September 14, 1946 and together lived in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and Arizona, before moving to Canada and living in both Quebec and Alberta. During her working career, Ailene was Vice President of Universal Go-Tract Limited. She loved to golf, and travelled extensively. She leaves behind many friends, and will be missed by her Shih-Tzu “Niki”.
Besides her loving husband Bill, Ailene will be remembered by her children, JoAnn and Charles Nenadic of Villa Hills, KY, Linda and Barry Cook of Winchester, ON and Rob and Janine Gibson of Calgary; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sybil and Dorothy. Ailene was predeceased by her brothers, Harold and Earl.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Nurse Suzie Caccavo, and to the entire Home Health care team for their compassion and caring of Ailene.
