Obituary of Evelyn Genevieve Young

With great sadness, we announce that Evelyn Young died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the age of 76 years, after a recent battle with congestive heart failure. “Ev” was born as Martha Evelyn Genevieve Anne McDonald on April 7, 1929 in Peterborough, ON, to Lillian (Vickery) and Egbert McDonald. She grew up in Dartmouth, NS and later moved west, where she settled and lived most of her adult life in Calgary. There she raised her family, and volunteered her time and energy to the community. In later years she was cared for by the wonderful staff of the Beverly Centre Glenmore. Her family will remember her for her creativity and generous spirit. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn and Pamela; son Stephen; sisters, Joan and Judy; brother Allen; and seven grandchildren. Former husband Carl always remained dear to her heart.
