Obituary of Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer, beloved wife of Karl Meyer, of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the age of 71 years. Joyce was a nomadic free spirit who believed in social justice, reproductive choice and equality for all people. She was feminist who was an enthusiastic “Raging Granny” and a founding member of the Calgary Birth Control Association. Throughout her active life her main focus was her family. She will be deeply missed. Besides her loving husband, Joyce is survived by her children and their families, Russell and Jane Meyer and their children Sarah and Alex; Cheryl Meyer, Susan Kelly and her children, Eric and Hannah and Greg Meyer and Bev Klassen. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at Unitarian Church of Calgary (1703 – 1st Street N.W.) on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
