Obituary of Ivan Esley Barber

BARBER – Ivan Esley 1920 – 2005 It is with the greatest sorrow we announce the passing of Ivan Barber on October 25, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Ivan was born in Moose Jaw, SK and raised in Assiniboia, SK. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Chemical Engineering followed by a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa. He had a long and happy career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Ivan lived and worked in many places – from the Jungles of Equador and Columbia to Texas, Louisiana and back to Canada. In 1952 he met and married Dorothy McLean and they eventually settled in Calgary where they raised their three children. Ivan is remembered by his daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Chris Hannam of Calgary; three grandchildren Jordan and Mikaela Hannam of Calgary and Bradley Barber of Ryley, AB. Ivan was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1984, his two sons John in 1975 and Brett in 2002.
