Obituary of George Simpson

George Simpson of Calgary passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the age of 80 years. George was born in Barrow-In-Furnace Lancashire, U.K. George immigrated to Canada with his family in October of 1951. This “Dearest of Men” was known for his great sense of humor and expertise in many areas particularly technical things. He was highly regarded by all who worked with him and will be sadly missed by his family, especially his brothers and sisters William, Margaret, Mary and John and their children and friend Susan and his many friends. He served in W.W.ll in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. He began his life long career in Aircraft Engineering in Canada as an Electric and Instrument Technician for C.P. Air (R) until Lincoln Park Field closedown. George became Chief Electrician at Field Aviation, taught electronics night class at SAIT in the seventies and joined the Aircraft Maintenance staff until his retirement. George was a Humanitarian and Animal lover. George’s wishes are that if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of Alberta (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) 400, 320-23 Ave. S.W. Calgary, AB. Not Good Bye then “Dearest of Men” but in some sunnier clime “Good Morning”. Coffee or tea with friends at his house by his last request to be arranged.
