Obituary of Leona Edna EDEN

Leona (Lee) Edna Eden (nee Gunnville), beloved wife of the late David Eden of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her home on October 24, 2005 at the age of 72 years, following a short but courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Leona was born on July 23, 1933, and raised in Prince Albert, SK. She moved to Calgary at an early age to help support her siblings, where she met and married Dave. They moved to Kitchener, ON in the early ’60’s and built their family, until the early ’80’s when they returned to Calgary where she felt most at home. She touched many lives with her strength, courage and generosity. She worked extremely hard to provide a loving home for her family. Leona will always be remembered for her understanding, ambition and wisdom. She loved life and all that it gave to her. Leona is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Maria, Eugene and Janice, and Darryl and Summer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Dan, and Marlene and Joe; nine grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Nicole, Michael, Ashly, Lisa, Reynay, Cheyenne, and Destiny; and one great-grandchild Shayden. She is also survived by two sisters Ann (Mel) Porch and Joan Demers. Leona was predeceased by her husband David; parents Irene and Ernest Gunnville; and a brother Mannie Gunnville.
