Obituary of Jean Evelyn Calon

Jean Evelyn Calon of Calgary passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Jean was born on August 21, 1926 in London, England where she met and married her Canadian soldier, Joe, in 1945. She immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946 and settled in Calgary, AB. Jean will be remembered for her love of home and family, her wonderful garden, and her willingness to help others. Jean’s close friendships with her many neighbours were a big part of her life. She loved Tai-Chi with Nellie and the group, and the many activities with the West Hillhurst Go-Getters. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barry and Caron, Linda and Ken, Valerie and Kerry; her grand children, Shawn and Kathy, Myles, Dani and Brad, Nikki and Dan, Jamie and Harper-Lee, and her youngest grandchild Russell; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Dustin, Joshua, Zachary, Danika, and Brent; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband Joe; her sister Kath; and her granddaughter Marilyn. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
