Obituary of Dennis Robert Levitt
It is with deep regret and sorrow that Frances announces the passing of Dennis Robert Levitt, her beloved husband, on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis spent his working life as a custom Broker. He will be remembered more for his Square Dance calling and Recording Career, which he and Frances loved and pursued for thirty years. Dennis will be missed by the dancers whose lives he touched, both locally and internationally.
Besides his loving wife Frances, Dennis is survived by, Steven (Trish), Debra, and Mary Levitt, Yvonne and family in Hanford, CA, and Colin and family, in Colchester, England. He was predeceased by his mother Anne in 1955; and his father John in 1959.
At Dennis’ request, no service will be held. Friends and dancers are invited to a Celebration of Dennis’ Life on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Kerby Centre (1133 – 7 Avenue SW) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: (403) 521-3433. A special thank you to the doctors and staff of Unit 47, at the Tom Baker Centre and the palliative home care nurses who attended Dennis, for their compassionate care. A big thank you to Myrna and Ted, and Mike and Ann for the wonderful support they gave during this trying time.
