Obituary of Clyde William Smith
Clyde William Smith of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the age of 79 years.
Clyde was born on June 20, 1926 in Hantsport, Kings Crossing, NS. Clyde worked as a party manager for a seismic crew for many years living and working throughout Alberta and the far North. In the early 70’s he began working as a consultant for Shell Canada and did so until his retirement. Clyde loved gardening and growing flowers, especially roses. He was also fond of woodworking and turning perfectly good wood into sawdust. In later years, he became an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Clyde is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law Grant and Ruth Smith and Roger and Caitlyn Smith all of Calgary; seven grandchildren; and his close friend Sharon Scott of Calgary. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Dr. Colin MacKenzie, of San Jose, CA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Clyde was predeceased by his parents, William and Ruby; and his sister Jean.
