Obituary of Katherine Genest

Katherine Genest passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 10, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Kay was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and she will truly be missed by her family who loved to gather at her home for Sunday dinner and a piece of the best apple pie ever. Katherine is survived by her husband of fifty years, Denis; and five children, Darrel and Diana, Denny, Duncan, Darcy and Shannon and Donna; brothers and sisters, Steve Meier, Tony Meier, Nick Meier, Eleanor Heit, Johanna Volk, Helen Natske and Veronica Bertsch as well as numerous other relatives in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Grandma also leaves two grandsons, Garrett and Kurt Genest. Kay was predeceased by her brothers John, Frank and Kasper Meier and sister Mary Johns. She is among the angels now. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, October 13, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 – 24th Avenue N.W.) on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.
