Obituary of George William Pargeter
George William Pargeter of Calgary passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at the age of 82 years.
George was a native Calgarian and enlisted with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed in Red Deer. While in Red Deer, George played hockey with the Red Deer Wheelers, then playing professional hockey for many years in Buffalo, NY and finished in Calgary with the Professional Stampeders. During his professional career in hockey, George won the Edinburgh Trophy in 1954. He was employed with Calgary Stamp and Stencil until his retirement in March of 1988. George was a member of the Confederation Seniors and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #264.
George is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Terry and Carolyn; his daughter and son-in-law Marlene and Lyle Wilcox; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter; sister Doris Repp; sister-in-law Donalda Vine-Mutton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. George was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth in 2003; and his parents Edwin and Grace.
