Obituary of Charles Alfred Harrison

Charles (Chuck) Alfred Harrison went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 25, 2005. Chuck leaves to mourn his beloved wife of forty-two years, Christine; children, Cheryl (Cam), Craig (Karen), and Coryn (Barry); and grandchildren, Caine, Finn, Carter, and Harrison. Chuck will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Agnes (Bill) Cooper, Shirley (George) Sinfield, George (Delores) Harrison, Robert (Arlene) Harrison, and Sandra (Vic) Matthews. Chuck “Charlie Hustle” played professional football (CFL) for the Ottawa Roughriders for two years, and spent another seven with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He also enjoyed a successful career as an Industrial Engineer for the National Research Council. Throughout the years, Chuck has been involved with “Athletes in Action” where he was part of assemblies at high schools across Canada, sharing his faith in Jesus Christ. He has also been involved with Hockey Ministries International as a volunteer in helping to organize and run Christian hockey camps in Calgary and Three Hills, AB. In addition, he has volunteered as a football coach at Pee Wee, Bantam, and high school levels and also at the University of Manitoba. He has also been a hockey and ringette coach when his children played. As a result of his hard work and dedication as a volunteer, Chuck was a proud recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005. A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Matheson presiding.
