Obituary of Joanne Dorothy O’Brien

Joanne O’Brien, beloved wife of Dan O’Brien, and loving mother to sons Christopher and Scott and daughter-in-law Candice, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with breast cancer on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the age of 55 years. Joanne will always be remembered by her family and friends and the countless numbers of hearts she touched along the way. Joanne is survived by her brother Doug Parker and his family of Bobcaygeon, ON; her sister Doreen Tipoff and her family of Scarborough, ON; Pam Meadows and her family of London, ON; sister-in-law, Sandra Parker and her family of London, ON; brother-in-law, Fred O’Brien and his wife Linda and their family of Peterborough, ON; and brother-in-law David O’Brien of Peterborough, ON; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Joanne will be missed by her close friends, the Sloan family; the Pepe family; the Hill family; and the Ferber family, all of Calgary; the Ashcroft family of DeWinton; and all her golf buddies. She was predeceased by Harry and Dorothy Parker; Brewes and Ethel Parker; Clara O’Brien; and Barry Parker, all of Ontario. Joanne was a relentless crusader for the battle against breast cancer and was always ready to lend a hand and offer help to others dealing with this unrelenting disease through the Reach to Recovery Program. Joanne had tremendous faith in the staff at the Tom Baker Centre and they were with her every step of the way and our family is extremely grateful for all of their love and support.
