Obituary of Lucy Margaret Marietta

Lucy Margaret Marietta (nee Proust), beloved wife of the late Mr. Ted Marietta of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Lucy was born on March 12, 1923 in Rocke Plaine, SK. She grew up on the family farm in Masefield, SK with twelve brothers and sisters. Lucy married Ted on February 14, 1942 and lived in Manyberries, Lethbridge, and Calgary. Over the years, Lucy loved to entertain at her home in Calgary and Phoenix. Her culinary skills were greatly enjoyed by all. She really enjoyed doing volunteer work for her community and helping people. She took great pride in the appearance of her home. Lucy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was truly loved by all her family and will be greatly missed. Lucy is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Roger Gordon and Gloria and Rod Snider; six grandchildren, David (B.J.), Jason (Cheri), Collin (Dixie), Kent (Trish), Julie (Steve), and Candace (Darren); ten great-grandchildren, Melissa, Faith, Connor, Kale, Joel, Christopher, Cheyenne, Dakota, Aquinnah, and Rebecca; nephew Sonny (Helen) Proust; her siblings, Emile, Lily, Marcelle, Maurice, Alcide, Marie, Alice, Lenny, and Larry; as well numerous other nieces and nephews. Lucy was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Pete; and sister Peggy. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
