Obituary of Robert John Layton
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rob Layton. He passed away peacefully on September 19, 2005 at the age of 49, after a two year battle with brain cancer.
Rob was born on March 25, 1956 in Lethbridge, AB. He cherished the many happy times shared with family and friends. Rob was especially proud of his work with Parks Canada as a Special Projects Officer. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rob leaves to mourn his best friend and loving wife, Lori Mitchell of Calgary; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Trish Kelly of Edmonton, Tony and Christina Layton of Lethbridge; a daughter, Vicky Layton of Medicine Hat; as well as a grandson, Caden Kelly. He is also survived by his parents, Bernard (Buzz) and Vera Layton of Lethbridge; a sister Coralee (Barrie) Grunewald; and three brothers, Randy (Laurie), Blair (Debra) and Dave (Shauna) Layton.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
