Peter Streukens

Obituary of Peter Joseph Streukens

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden death of Peter Joseph Streukens of Calgary on Monday, September 19, 2005 at the age of 45 years. Peter was born on April 27th, 1960 in Lethbridge, AB and moved to Calgary at the age of six. Peter was given the gift of a brilliant mind and a generous spirit. He followed in his father’s footsteps in the insurance business and his innate ability to envision, plan and negotiate, fostered several successful entrepreneurial initiatives. For Peter, the passion was in the chase and the love of the challenge. Peter always lived life to the fullest and people were drawn to him because of his warmth, charm, confidence and complete acceptance. His home was his castle and a place where Peter constantly gathered friends, family and associates to experience his culinary talents, his genuine love for fine wines and a rambunctious game of “Oilmen”. Peter was truly a man who lived life as if there were no tomorrow. Peace Peter. Predeceased by his father, Peter J. Streukens, in 1975, Peter will be forever in the heart of his wife Michelle VanGelderen; his children, Michael and Amber; his mother Phyllis Streukens; his brothers, Vincent (Sherry), Michael (Andrea) and John (Janie); his sisters, Tamara and Mary Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
