Obituary of Nicholas Abboud

Surrounded by his loving family, Nicholas Abdala Abboud of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife Najla of forty-five years; son Albert and Mania Abboud; daughter Georgette and Edwar Bassmahjiyan; and his five grandchildren, Katina, Sayta, Paula, Mark and Pronia. He loved them all and they all adored him. “We’re going to miss you Jiddo”. He is also survived by his brother George and Suham Abboud of Ottawa; and brother and sister in Lebanon, Elias Abboud and Tatla Rizk; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Nicholas was born in Jib Jannine, Lebanon on April 24, 1930. In 1960 he married and the same year he immigrated to Canada. He was employed with the City of Calgary in 1962 with the Streets and Road Division working for thirty years until he retired in 1992. Nicholas loved working in his garden Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church (402 Meredith Road N.E.) on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
