Obituary of Herbert Kubel
Herb Kubel of Calgary, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, September 16, 2005 at the age of 75 years.
Herb was born in Germany, and immigrated to Canada at the age of twenty-one. In 1958, upon meeting the love of his life, Herb and Hazel moved to Calgary to begin their family. Herb spent most of his career in the plumbing supply industry, most recently with Westburne. He will be dearly missed by both his clients and co-workers. Herb was a gun enthusiast, loved the outdoors, and had a special place in his heart for dogs. Herb and Hazel enjoyed traveling. On their most recent trip, at the tender age of seventy-four, he led his grandchildren on a banana boat ride around the Bay in the Dominican Republic. Herb’s child side could never be ignored; he was the boy inside the man.
He will be lovingly remembered by the only women he ever loved, and his wife of forty-seven years – Hazel. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Guenter and Anita; his son and daughter-in-law Randy and Susan; and his grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Graham, and Morgan; his step daughter Winnie (Harvey); and his step grandchildren Justin, Ryan (Jennifer), Daryl, and Sean.
At Herb’s request, no Funeral Service will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
In living memory of Herbert Kubel, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
