Obituary of Donald Wayne Clarke

Donald Wayne Clark of Calgary passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Donald lost his life battling prostrate cancer in April 2002, but succumbed to colon cancer he got in 2005. Donald was born in Assiniboia, SK, grew up and received his schooling in Moose Jaw, SK. He then moved to Calgary, AB in 1951 where he has lived ever since. Because of his physical handicap, he could not do heavy labour but instead worked as hotel night clerk and at times worked in restaurants in China Town as a bus-boy. Although he had this handicap, he never complained and was content and only saw the good in people that he knew and met. As Donald was an outgoing person and being an avid RV’er and camper, he met a lot of people at campgrounds throughout Canada and the U.S.A. He was full of questions to the people he met. He will be sadly missed by his sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Burt Campbell; his brother David all of Vancouver, B.C.; nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends. Donald is predeceased by his parents, his brother?s Joey and Lawrence. It was Donald?s wish to be cremated and his love of Calgary that some of his ashes be strewn here and his final resting place in Assiniboia, SK. It was also Donald?s wish that there be no memorial service; if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: (403)521- 3433.
