Obituary of Rudy Dutka
Rudy Dutka, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Rudy was born on February 21, 1921 in Vegreville, Alberta. He is survived by Doris (nee Dibb), his beloved wife of 60 years, their daughters, Diane (Daniel) Swiatek, Catherine (Bruce) Jespersen, Christie (Robyn) Foret, his loving grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Megan, Jonas, Taryn, Liam, Ben, Morgan, Taylor and Avery, his sole surviving sister, Lillian Lowell of Texas, and his sister-in-law Una Teskey of Edmonton. Rudy was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy and Mary. After graduating with a Chemical Engineering Degree at the University of Alberta, Rudy had a long and productive career in the Canadian oil and gas industry, and held positions with Chevron Standard for 39 years until his retirement. Rudy was actively involved in the community, serving as Chairman of the Calgary Separate School Board. He also served as Treasurer for the Banbury Crossroads School Society, and as Business Manager and Benefactor for Diane’s Banbury Crossroads Private School. Rudy’s love, generosity and lifelong devotion to his friends and family will be sorely missed.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rolando Badiola, Presider.
