Obituary of James Patrick Gallagher
James (Jim) Patrick Gallagher, beloved husband of Bernice Gallagher of Calgary, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the age of 80 years.
Jim was born in Arrow Park, BC, and grew up in Kamloops, BC. Prior to moving to Calgary with his family in 1958, Jim worked as a butcher. He came to Calgary to work with his friend Dick Johnson at Alberta Vending Machines. He later became a founding partner in Southern Music where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Jim was a noted collector and loved his many collections. He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by many.
Besides his loving wife, Jim is survived by his children and their spouses, Sandi and Michael Greene of Calgary, Kerri Gallagher and Marc Delannoy of Okotoks, and Mike Gallagher and Stella Peece of Calgary; five grandchildren, Kiel and Keir Knudsen, Connor and Shelby Schancel, and Scott Gallagher; and a great-granddaughter Sheileigh Gallagher. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Lil of North Vancouver. Jim was predeceased by his son Murray Gallagher in 1974 and sister Rita Miller.
