Obituary of Maria A.A. Oerlemans

Nettie Oerlemans, beloved wife of thirty-five years of John Oerlemans of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 62 years. Nettie was born on September 11, 1942 in Indonesia, she moved to Holland in 1948 and immigrated to Canada in 1969. In 1970 she married her husband John and they resided in Calgary. She had a deep passion for her animals and gardening, she especially loved her flowers. Nettie is survived by her loving husband John; her mother Alida; her chosen daughter and son-in-law Georgette and Robert; a grandson Richie; a brother and sister-in-law John and Elle Van Reijn; a brother-in-law George; a sister-in-law Tinie (Pete) Oerlemans; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. The majority of Nettie’s family live in Holland. She was predeceased by her father Jaques Van Reijn in 1968.
