Obituary of George Ken Pon Yip

George, beloved husband of Colleen Yip passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at the age of 74. George was born in Hoi Ping, China in 1930. At 21, he came to Canada and worked as a chef in BC and AB. He married Colleen and together they opened a successful restaurant business in Cardston, AB, where they also raised their children. In 1997, he and Colleen retired and moved to Calgary. Forever and fondly remembered, he leaves behind his wife Colleen, his children and grandchildren – Ernest, Wayne (Susie), Lang (Tanya), Pearl and Eric; and his two brothers and their families – Ken (Rosanna), Andrea and Alison; and Denver (Lancy), Bernard (Psyche)and Chloe and Ying-Ying (David) and Erica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North, Telephone (403) 276-2296) on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 2:30 p.m.
