Obituary of Kathleen Luella Payne
Kathleen (Katie) Luella Payne of Calgary passed away suddenly, in a motor vehicle accident, on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the age of 17 years.
Katie was born on July 10, 1988 in Calgary, where she attended John G. Diefenbaker High School. Katie’s unique bubbly personality touched the lives of all she knew. She was adored by her brother and sister and always knew they were there to love, guide and protect her. As always, she will be there to cheer them on in all they do. Katie loved animals, the ocean, drama, and music. She was a diligent student who was determined to accomplish much. Her positive influence and love for life will continue through her thirty-four cousins.

Katie will be lovingly remembered by her parents Pamela and Curtis Payne of Calgary; brother Elder Jeffrey Payne who is serving his Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eugene, OR; sister Erica Payne of Calgary; grandparents, Donna Quinton-Schonfield of Calgary, Niel (Donna) Quinton of Innisfail, AB, Luella Payne of Airdrie, AB, and Dale (Gladys) Payne of Cochrane, AB; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (5927 Tipton Road N.W.) on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Because Katie enjoyed working at the Calgary Zoo, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Zoological Society.
