Obituary of Lili Varhelyi

Lili Varhelyi of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Monday, August 29, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Lili was born on May 29, 1918 in T÷r÷kkanizsa, Hungary. She married Dr. Tibor Varhelyi in Hungary in 1943. They immigrated to Germany in 1945 and to Argentina in 1948. Dr. Varhelyi passed away in Argentina in 1986 and Lili immigrated to Canada in December. While in Argentina, Lili was dedicated to fashion design, which she had a passion for. She loved people and was a very social person who loved dancing. Lili is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Bill Irvine of Calgary; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lotty Lovasz, and Klari and Dr. Imre Kutassi, all of Hungary; as well as many family and friends in Hungary and Germany, friends in Canada and Argentina. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church (819 – 13th Avenue S.W.) on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Istvan Zachfalvy, Presider.
