Obituary of Otto Herrmann

Mr. Otto Herrmann of Calgary passed away peacefully, due to complications from pneumonia, at the Foothills Medical Centre on August 27, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Otto was born on December 17, 1930 and raised in Leader, SK. He moved to Alberta in the early fifties, working in the oil patch. He also worked as a Lather in the construction industry until his early retirement in the seventies, due to his health. He married Margaret Bramall of Evarts, AB on July 15, 1955. Otto lived quietly in his beautiful home. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed going out for coffee with close friends. Camping at Pine Lake and gardening were highlights of his life. He was an excellent father and will be dearly missed. Otto is survived by his loving children, Barry and Barb of Calgary, AB; his sisters and brother; several nieces and nephews; and great-niece Nora Malcolm, as well as many long-time friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret in January, 1999; parents Karl and Eva Herrmann; sisters, Lydia, Christine and Annie and brothers, Karl and Louie. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks for the genuine care and compassion that our dad received from Nurses Leslie and Sandra as well as the Doctors in the Intensive Care Unit at Foothills Medical Centre and also Fire Station #4 and Paramedics. The family would also like to thank Pearl Martin, Claire and Thelma Schmaltz and Garth and Betty Dickson, as well as the many calls and the thoughtfulness shown from family and friends at this difficult time.
