Obituary of Clara Zvanchuk

Bernice Zvanchuk (nee Baylor), beloved wife of George Zvanchuk of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the age of 72 years. Bernice was born on March 7, 1933 in Regina, SK and was raised on the family farm. She was one of ten children born to Walter and Clara Baylor. While attending high school, she also attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Regina and became an accomplished pianist. Her passion for music carried on throughout her entire life. Bernice married George on April 10, 1954. After raising her family, she obtained her LPN and worked in various areas of health-care. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and stayed active through her daily walks and bike rides through Glenmore Park. Bernice will be remembered for her laughter, vibrance and zest for life. Besides her loving husband of fifty-one years, Bernice is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Eric Carlsen of Washington State, Carol and Kirk Goodwin, and Susan and Tracy Meyers; a son and daughter-in-law Richard and Stephanie Zvanchuk, all of Calgary; and her nine cherished grandchildren, Alex, Brittany and Ciara Carlsen, all of Washington State, Kimberly and Clayton Goodwin, Zachary Meyers, and Lauren, Jacquelyn and Megan Zvanchuk, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her six sisters and a brother-in-law, Evangeline Branch and Gladys Martin, both of Regina, SK, Dorothy Baylor of Calgary, Norma and Bob Bertram of Florida, Loreen de Baleau of Calgary, and Marjorie Szabo of Nevada; two brothers, Eugene Baylor and Walter Baylor of Regina; and a sister-in-law Eleanor Hollihn of Regina. She was predeceased by her brother Melvin Baylor.
