Obituary of Joyce Ethel Wales

Joyce Ethel Wales of Calgary, born on November 16, 1908, died peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre on Saturday, August 13, 2005. Born in Margate, England, Joyce came with her family at age five to Calgary. She was a valued and conscientious Bay employee for over forty years, specialising in customs assessment. Joyce was a loyal supporter of local theatre and an avid and somewhat raucous fan, with her brothers, of the Calgary Stampeders football team. Joyce is lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Bea (Eric) and Joy (Ron); nieces, Pat in Calgary, Dott (Brian) in New Zealand, Linda (George; Kari and Jill) in Vancouver, BC, and Dianne (Nicole) in Christina Lake, BC; and nephews, Don (Marie) in Red Deer, AB and Dick (Terry; Jolene and Jamie) in Sundre, AB. Joyce was the only daughter of Joseph and Ethel Wales and was predeceased by her three younger brothers, Eric, Cyril and Ron; sister-in-law Beryl (Cyril); and dear friends, Murielle and Geoff Keer. A Memorial Service for Joyce will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
