Obituary of Chia Ho Ng

Chia Ho (George) Ng, beloved husband of Phua Juat Lan of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Born in China on December 31, 1928, George immigrated first to Malaysia and then to Canada. He lived in Kuching, Malaysia and Calgary. He was married in March of 1952. George was recently baptised as Roman Catholic. “He didn’t have much and yet he had plenty”. Wherever George went he opened his heart to all and welcomed everyone to his home. Although the father of nine children, George was called ‘Papa’ by many more in Malaysia and Calgary. He was happiest when all of his nine children gathered from various places to spend the last few days with him. We truly believe he found God in the end. Besides his loving wife Phua Juat Lan, George is also survived by his family Ng Hui Eng, Daniel Ng, Ng Hui Kwang, and Ng Hui Na, all of Malaysia, Lina Bong of Vancouver, Vivienna Yick, Vernon Ng, Catherine Ng, Juliana Ng/Dalayoan, all of Calgary; as well as twenty-seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Long Vu, Presider.
