Obituary of Thomas William Roberts

Thomas (Dutchy) William Roberts of Calgary passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the age of 67 years. Tom Roberts was predeceased last month by his dearest friend and companion, Evelyn (Lynn) Chisholm and he will be sadly missed by Lynn’s family and friends. It is with great sadness that the Staff of Airdrie Chrysler Dodge Jeep mourn the passing of one of the dearest members of our “family”. Dutchy, as he was known at work, spent most of the past twenty-five years as a Lot Manager at the dealership. Any of the dealerships he worked for recognized him as the most hard-working and dedicated man they had ever seen. Although Dutchy’s official hours of work were 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., he usually arrived to begin his work day by 5:00 a.m. and seldom left before 6:00 p.m. He never, ever, stopped working, and took intense pride in having the best-looking and cleanest car lot anywhere. He beamed with pride at every compliment directed his way. Dutchy was quiet, proud and a very private man, yet he always had a smile and a willingness to please. We will always miss his kind and gentle manner, the respect he showed everyone, and the incredible pride he took in his work. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Linda Hunter of Wild Rose United Church, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
