Obituary of Donald Norris

Don Norris went to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 10, 2005 at the age of 87 years. He was born March 19, 1918 at Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his loving wife Grace Lyla Norris. During his life he worked for Dominion Bridge as a draftsperson and for Shell Oil of Canada for forty-one years as a Landman. He was a member and past Chairman of the Calgary Area Hospital Planning Council. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Salvation Army Grace Hospital for nineteen years. He was an active member of the Gideons. He served as a Lay-Pastor for Grace Chapel of Bowness for thirty years. Don will be lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law Donna and Jake van Runt, his sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Betty Norris, Calvin and Frances Norris. Don is also survived by his eleven grandchildren Shawn, Melodie, Michael, Craig, Carla, Kerry and Calvin, Chantelle, Sheldon, Quinn, and Afton; and his six great-grandchildren, Abrahanna, Mikaela, Kyla, Lanna, Alexa, and Brianna; one nephew, Bert and Norma Buckley. A Celebration of Don Norris’ life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church (3325 – 49th Street S.W.) on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Maury McNeil and the Rev.
