Obituary of Kaoru Yamamoto

Kaoru (Kayo) Yamamoto, beloved husband of Miki Yamamoto of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Kayo was born on July 13, 1919 in Eburne, B.C, son of Jintaro and Yuki Yamamoto. He spent his school years in the Vancouver Lower Mainland. He was relocated to Alberta in 1942 and settled in Magrath, AB. He married Mikiko Nakane on January 18, 1947. In 1966, the family moved to Calgary. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fishing, landscaping, and painting. Besides his loving wife Miki, he is survived by his children, Roger and Mary Yamamoto of Richmond, BC, Terry and Merv Swan of Houston, TX, Ann Yamamoto of Edmonton, AB, and Shelley Yamamoto of Calgary, AB; six grandchildren, Jared (Natalie) Swan, Darrell (Sara) Swan, Courtney (Marti) Pickett, Matthew (Janice) Swan, Grayden Swan, and Megan Swan, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Yoshio Nakamura of Victoria, BC and two sisters, Toshiko Nagata of Calgary, AB, and Tamiko Hasegawa of Nanaimo, BC. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
