Obituary of Joyce Davis

Joyce Dorothea Davis passed away in the Rockyview Hospital in the manner she wished, pain free and in comfort on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the age of 92 years, surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in Workington, England and moved to Canada with her parents at the age of seventeen. The highlights of Joyce’s life were her family and good friends from many cultures and walks of life. She especially delighted in the time she spent with her great-granddaughter Erin. Her world travel adventures included visits to Los Angeles, Hawaii, Disneyland, Alaska, Japan, New Zealand, Ontario, New York, and a number of return visits to her homeland of England. She will be remembered for her strength, determination and dignity. Joyce is survived by her son Alan Woodward Davis of Calgary, her granddaughters Laura Rochelle Davis of Victoria, B.C, and Karen Michelle Davis of Calgary, and her great-granddaughter Erin Marie Kelly of Victoria, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Davis. A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
