Obituary of Helen Chapman

Helen Isabelle Chapman (nee Farquharson), beloved wife of Gordon Chapman of Calgary, passed away, doing what she enjoyed, on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Helen loved the outdoors and lived life to the fullest. She was an active member of the Second Sixties, the Elbow Valley Cycle Club, the Fifth Dimension and the Nurses Alumni. Helen was always there for anyone in need and volunteered with many organizations. She was raised in Provost and obtained a Nursing Degree with honours in Edmonton. She moved to Calgary in 1951 and worked at Mountain View Health Unit. Helen married Gordon Chapman in 1960. She was devoted to raising their two children and later she treasured her time spent with her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, Helen is remembered by her son and daughter Kevin Chapman and Colleen Irvine, both of Calgary; and her grandchildren, Mitchell and Jesse Irvine. Funeral Services will be held at St. David’s United Church (3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W.) on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Catherine M. Pace, Presider.
