Obituary of Helmer Gerhard Hanson

Helmer Gerhard Hanson of Airdrie passed away at the Didsbury Long Term Care Centre, Unit 4 on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the age of 97 years. Helmer was born on March 23, 1908 in Clarkfield, MN. He moved to Airdrie in 1913 and married Mae Carlson of Airdrie in 1935. Together, they raised their family, farmed, and raised Hereford cattle in the Yankee Valley for many years. Helmer is survived by his four sons and three daughters-in-law, Bob and Anne of Vancouver, BC, Bonar and Sandra of Olds, AB, Murray, and Gary and Sandy, all of Airdrie; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Mae in 2002; and his daughter-in-law Deb in 1997. Funeral Services will be held at Airdrie Alliance Church (1604 Summerfield Boulevard, Airdrie, AB) on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. A Family Graveside Service was held at Airdrie Cemetery.
