Obituary of Kenneth Nicholas Leibel

Kenneth (Ken) Nicholas Leibel, beloved husband of Joanne Leibel and father of Tracie and Kim of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the age of 54 years. Ken was born on July 19, 1951 in Macklin, SK. Through his growing years, he lived in the Western provinces until coming to Calgary when he married Joanne on July 20, 1973. He worked in Calgary in the trucking industry for thirty-five years as an owner operator. Ken’s life was filled with humour and he especially loved the time spent with his family. He had a magnetic personality and was instantly drawn to anything big and fast, whether it was trucks, cars, planes or boats. Ken was loved by all who knew him and will forever be remembered by his wife and loving family. Besides his loving wife Joanne of thirty-two years, Kenneth is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Tracie and Scott Taylor and Kim and Derrek Favel; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachery; and grandchild to be (Tracie and Scott), all of Calgary. He is also survived by his mother Carol Leibel; his mother-in-law Julie Paul; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Linda of Calgary, Duane of BC, and Ben and Bonnie of BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Ken was predeceased by his father Jack Leibel in 1999, and his father-in-law Bruce Paul in 2001. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
