Obituary of Christian Nelson Berg

Christian Nelson Berg of Calgary passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the age of 92 years. Chris was born on March 30, 1913 in Neville, SK. His family moved to Norway and spent three years there before returning to farm in Govan, SK. Chris moved to Ottawa in 1940 and worked in the Goods and Procurement Department of the Federal Government. He married Micheline Sheskay on September 30, 1945 and they moved to Calgary in 1948. Chris was employed with the Unemployment Insurance Department, then transferred in 1965 to the Federal Tax Department and he retired in 1975. Chris is survived by his wife Micheline; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kim and Kent and Pam; five grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Colin, Suzanne, and Heather. He is also survived by two brothers, Johnnie and Lloyd; and four sisters, Lillian, Clara, Evelyn, and Edna. Chris will be greatly missed by all. He was predeceased by a sister Jennie; and two brothers, Henry and Norman. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel, (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, August 4, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.
