Obituary of William Gordon Neil Egbert

William (Bill) Egbert, beloved husband of Margot, of Calgary, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Bill was born in Calgary and was proud of being a Calgarian. He was a volunteer for the 1988 Olympics and a long-time supporter of the Calgary Stampede where he was granted the title of Honorary Lifetime Director upon his retirement. Golf was a passion for Bill and like his father he was a member of the Calgary Golf & Country Club, where he served on several committees including spending one year as the Club President. Bill achieved his Law Degree from the University of Alberta in 1952 and practiced in Calgary. He served on various committees for the Law Society of Alberta, and then in 1979 achieved a lifelong goal of following his father to a position as a Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench, where he remained until his retirement in 1996. Bill will lovingly be remembered by his wife Margot; his children, Sherri, Cyndi, Michael, and William; as well as his grandchildren, Michael, Paul, and Jeffrey.
