Obituary of Lydia Boychuk
Lydia Boychuk (formerly Quinn) of Calgary passed away on Monday, July 25, 2005 at the age of 94 years.
Lydia was born on July 2, 1911 in Ufa, Russia and immigrated to Canada from Germany on May 27, 1929. She was employed with CP Hotels, working at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC and later at the Palliser Hotel in Calgary, from where she retired in 1976 after many years of service, and where she also met her future husband Lyle Quinn who predeceased her in 1976. Following her retirement, Lydia enjoyed dancing and many other senior activities.
Lydia is survived by her sister Olga Lohse of Calgary; nieces and nephews, June and Ralph Melnick of Red Deer, AB, Donna and Morley Moger of Calgary, Bev and Matt Kozun of Regina, SK, Marlene Braun and Louie of Calgary, Ron Bassendowski of Moose Jaw, SK, Shelley Bassendowski of Burstall, SK and Oscar and Claire Braun of Ontario; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Lydia was predeceased by her husband Lyle; three sisters, Lena, Clara and Frieda; one brother Richard; and brothers-in-law Ervin Lohse, Oscar Bassendowski and Martin Moshenko.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
