Obituary of Tillie Sturm

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce that Tillie (or as many knew her – “Gran”) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2005. Born in Manyberries, AB, Tillie carved out a piece of Alberta heritage with her husband Rudolph (Ralph) as they ranched in the Cypress Hills of Alberta. She raised her family in Medicine Hat and then moved to Calgary in 1972. Tillie (“Gran”) is survived by her children, Bernice (Peacock) and husband Bob, Ivan Sturm, Cindy (McComb) and husband Ken; four granddaughters, Valerie (Derksen) and husband Doug, Tracey Zehl, Tiffany (Whitnack) and husband John, and Amber McComb; a great-grandson Cody Derksen; two sisters, Martha Thompson and Ethel Hauck and husband Les; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Ralph in 1965; and her sisters, Edith Rabb and Gladys Flemmer. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
