Obituary of Ronald Merlin Caldwell
Ronald (Ron) Caldwell passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the age of 64 years, after an eleven-month struggle with cancer. He is survived by Lena, his loving wife and best friend of thirty-seven years; two sons, Alan (Karen) Caldwell and Steven Caldwell (Teresa Pujol); and two granddaughters, Ashley and Sarah Caldwell, all of Calgary. Ron is also survived by his father A.E. “Don” Caldwell of Ponoka, AB; brother Calvin Caldwell of Edmonton, AB; and sister Heather (Blaine) Lewis of Ponoka, AB. He was predeceased by his mother Vera Caldwell in 1981.
Ron was born on April 4, 1941 in Pembroke, ON. He attended school in the Ponoka area at Fertile Forest, Crestomere and Ponoka High. Ron joined the CIBC in 1959, retiring in 2000 after forty-one years with the bank in locations throughout Alberta and northern Saskatchewan, making many good friends along the way.
