Obituary of Cynthia Lam

Cynthia Jacqueline Lai Yee Lam of Calgary passed peacefully into the light on Wednesday, July 13th, 2005. Cynthia was born in Montreal in 1960. Cynthia’s youthful years were spent enjoying athletic activities at the Calgary Winter Club where she participated in swimming and skating. She attended Crescent Heights High School in Calgary where she was a cheerleader, Prom Queen and a member of the Bay Teen Council. In 1985 she earned her degree in Physical Education at the University of Calgary with emphasis in the dance program, one of her life long passions. She also travelled extensively in her life living in both Singapore and Bali (creating a clothing import business), but eventually her travels brought her to Boulder Colorado where she studied acupuncture, Chi Quong Medicine and Herbology. Cynthia was well respected for her healing work and love of the outdoors. The heartfelt community of Boulder soon adopted her and this became Cynthia’s home for the past fourteen years. Her thirst for knowledge allowed her to study languages, yoga, pilates, accupoint pressure and creative pursuits. Cynthia was a high spirited individual loved by many friends and family members with a capacity to love, respect and honor others with non judgement. Her relentless struggle with cancer displayed her true strength of character to all those who knew and loved her. Cynthia will be dearly missed as she had a zest for life that impacted everyone around her. Cynthia is survived by her Father, Dr. Anthony Lam, his wife Karen, her brothers, Marvin, Colvin (Adora, their children Mila, Maya and Malia) and Kevin; her cousins, Frank (Jessica, Marissa), MaryAnne (Tim, their children Ema and Kali). She was predeceased by her mother Annie in 1999. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
