Obituary of Elmer Allen Morberg
Elmer Allen (Slim) Morberg, beloved husband of Helen of Calgary, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2005 at the age of 88 years.
Slim was born on April 1, 1917 in Melfort, SK. He grew up in Melfort until moving to Whitehorse, YT when he was eighteen. Slim worked in the gold mines as well as helping pioneer the Yukon through erecting power lines and other services in the community. He worked as a Parts Man in the Trailer business in Calgary until his retirement in 1977. In his retirement Slim especially enjoyed hunting and fishing but his grandchildren were the joy of his life and he enjoyed many camping trips with them.
Besides his loving wife Helen, Slim is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen and John Taylor of Calgary, AB and Shirley and Ken Zimmerman of Olds, AB; two grandchildren, Brad (Janelle) Taylor, and Patty (Will) MacKenzie; and two great-grandchildren, Ty and Dakota. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Fred and Inga Morberg of Calgary, Ray Morberg of Vancouver, BC, and Roy and Joanne Edquist of Victoria, BC
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, July 7, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Helen’s residence (24 Hyslop Drive S.W.).
